Trap affinity increases your character's ability to disarm traps. More points gives a higher percentage to successfully disarm traps. At higher values, certain traps may be picked up and placed elsewhere.

This is how it works:

  • There are 10 levels of traps, each point of trap affinity you gain allows you to disable one level higher and gives a cumulative 5% bonus chance to disable any traps that you don't automatically disable, capping at 45%. Without any trap affinity bonus, you have a 45% chance to disarm level 1, 40% to disable level 2, and so on.
  • When you gain one point higher than needed to disable a trap at 100% chance, you gain the ability to pick up the trap and place it, still gaining experience for disabling it. You cannot repeatedly pick up and place the trap for experience, but your placed traps affect you as well. The only ones you can't pick up are the ones that don't disappear when triggered, ie the gargoyle and robo bolt traps.
  • Traps at the level you can pick up will not be shown as a faint square on the ground like normal, instead showing the trap as it would show it if you clicked on it to disable it, but decided not to.
